GLORY ROAD
Conceived by Chance D. Muehleck
Created by the Nerve Tank
Commissioned and Presented by Arts Brookfield September 18 - 21, 2013
at Grace Building, Plaza , NYC

The Nerve Tank brings the woeful myth of Sisyphus to the Grace Building Plaza. Sisyphus, a daring and clever king who outwitted the gods on many occasions, is sentenced by Zeus to the absurd and eternal fate of pushing a boulder uphill only to have it roll back down. The Nerve Tank's interactive encounter with this story features a 6 1/2-foot metal sphere pushed along the Plaza, overseen by a dancing Persephone, Queen of the Underworld. Sisyphus’ labor is to play the “boulder” in narrative order, which is filled with technology that triggers audio and video fragments as it moves. The task is impossible, yet he's forced to keep going – and through his punishment he celebrates his stubborn pride.

A three-part performance piece using streamed video and original music to interrogate concepts of authority, personhood, and programmed behavior. Inspired by the plays Woyzeck by Georg Buchner and Kaspar by Peter Handke, the show spotlights the human desire to succeed even under the most impossible and contradictory circumstances.

HAMLET: SEE WHAT I SEE
Adapted and Directed by Melanie Armer
for Rebel & Misfits Productions,
at: the Barnett on Washington, Saint Louis MO
November 12-18 2016

A fully immersive Hamlet experience set within (and without) the castle Elsinore employed a diverse cast of professional and local Sant Louis actors including Artistic Director Kelly Hummert using my stripped  down edit of the classic text.  Applying the Nerve Tank Aesthetic,  rich visual imagery and movement-based work to some of Shakespeare's most luxurious language brought a new vision of this play to Saint Louis audiences.

THE MAIDEN
Conceived by Chance D Muehleck
Created by Admiral Grey and The Nerve Tank
at: La MaMa E.T.C. in The Club

March 28 - April 13, 2014

The Nerve Tank and composer Admiral Grey  created a contemporary reboot of the abduction myth of Persephone. Can power be given or must it be seized from sinister sources? Does pure performance make its own meaning?

The Maiden explores these questions in the context of a dark nightclub. Blending found text, choreographed movement, and live music to rip into a kidnapped psyche. And as the lady reaches the point of no return, her man loses any semblance of control.
